Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you see patients of all ages?
The practice focuses on adult psychiatry for individuals over 18 years of age.

  • Will you coordinate care with my therapist or other providers?
Yes, but we will need a signed release of information to collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure continuity and consistency in your care.

  • Do telemedicine appointments need to be on video?
Yes, video is required for telemedicine appointments to allow for a thorough and accurate assessment. For your safety, telehealth visits cannot take place while driving or operating a vehicle.

  • Do you prescribe benzodiazepines?
Yes. We will prescribe benzodiazepines (such as Xanax, Ativan, or Klonopin) for short-term use when it is clinically appropriate. Benzodiazepines can interfere with behavioral treatment and carry increased risks for dependence, withdrawal, and cognitive side effects. Our focus is to provide a safe, evidence-based approach that supports lasting mental wellness.

  • What would you say to someone hesitant about taking psychiatric medication?
It’s normal to feel uncertain about starting any medication. However, if your symptoms are significantly impacting your life, medication is worth considering. Before starting any medication we will take the time to discuss all available options with you.

  • Do you accept insurance and/or private pay?
Yes, at the present time we accept Cigna, United Health Care, Aetna, First Health, Optum and Blue Cross Blue Shield. We also offer private pay options.

  • Are you available for emergencies?
We are not equipped to provide emergency medical or psychiatric care. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department immediately.
